BBC's Click covered how some news organizations are turning to gaming to attract a younger audience and readership while other organizations are turning to gaming to help solve the world’s problems and have coined the term “games for good”. (Serious Games, December 24th, 2014)
With my marketer’s hat on, I posted comments to the show’s Facebook page (see below) on what it takes to succeed and being for “good” wasn’t good enough.
I was shocked and delighted when listening to a podcast of a later show to hear my name in a follow up discussion. My comments, where read by Gareth Mitchell during the radio show’s “outro podcast session” (Paris Surveillance Lesson January 14th 2015).
Big lesson for me: make sure comments are written with the thought that they will be read aloud and not just consumed in silence.
Gareth, I’ll be sure to do better proofing on all future posts with the intent of making it easier to read on air (I read it allowed as well and I stumbled as well!).
Unfortunately the recording of the show (including the “podcast outro”) are no longer available online. Such is life.
